Requirements to Participate
It costs nothing for
participants to take advantage of ERBN services. The only requirement is this:
along with offering merchants sales commissions to market their products,
suppliers must grant a discount that makes it advantageous for customers to
purchase their products through the ERBN.
The discount amount can be anything suppliers want to offer--a
dime, a quarter, a dollar, many dollars, whatever. There's also no set minimum
amount on sales commissions they may offer to merchants. Suppliers just have to
understand that sales increase proportionately to price reduction and that
merchant effort intensifies with higher commission rates.
The advantage: The
supplier discount and commission are recouped. Why? Suppliers must
advertise their products anyway. This costs money. Since the ERBN is free,
suppliers should consider the discount and commission just another way of
reorienting their advertising dollars. Instead of paying a newspaper to run an
ad or a radio or TV station to air a commercial, just "pay" customers
to shop through the ERBN and pay merchants to sell your products.
Also: Advertisers
usually grant suppliers advertising that is proportionate to the amount of money
they pay them. The effects of each ad or commercial last for a limited time.
With the ERBN, there is no limit to the amount of merchants that suppliers can
pick up to help sell their goods. Plus, there's no limit to the quantity of
products they can post. And it's an ongoing thing--no time
limit!
