MY PROMISE

Description

   The Black Business Mail-Out (BBMO) is a direct-mail advertising service allowing Black businesspeople to have their ads included collectively in the same envelope or package and thereby mailed directly to a progressive-minded pro-Black customer base all over the continental U.S. "Pro-Black" is meant to indicate not only Black customers, but also customers of any race who are for Black progress.

Print Format for Ads

  Ads will be printed in black toner on both sides of 20# white bond. There will be four 8-1/2" X 11" sheets bearing 78 available ad spaces for advertisers. (The first two ad spaces of the first page of the first sheet will be used by The Ebon Run or by Ad Spread Collective in general.) All ads will be business-card size--2" X 3-1/2", spaced out at 20 to a sheet = 10 to a page. See below:

Print Quality

Laser: (1200 dpi.)

Requirements

   Ads must be low-toner--not consuming an excessive amount of toner from a laser printer. A limit of one or two small pictures printed onto a dominantly white background is preferred. Ads may be submitted in Microsoft Word or in a standard Windows format. E-mail attachments must be able to fit onto a floppy. Ads submitted by postal mail must be of a print quality suitable for producing a good scan. All advertisers corresponding solely by postal mail must include a postage stamp for each reply. E-mail correspondence is the preferred method of communication. All ads must promote legitimate products and/or services. NO GET-RICH-QUICK SCHEMES ALLOWED.

Price

$10 per 1,000 mailings.

How to Advertise

   E-mail ebonrunbn@excite.com with "BBMO Advertising" as the subject. In the body of your message, state the print quality and *quantity of mailings desired. Submit your ad according to the instructions above. (Advertisers who correspond only through postal means must include a postage stamp for each reply.) You will be notified of when to send payment. Payment must be received before mailing service is rendered.

   *The BBMO is a brand new project, so, at least 1,000 mailing-list members will have to be accumulated before the first list will be available for advertisers. All advertisers will have to settle for mailing quantities equal to or less than the total amount of mailing-list members available at any given time.

   All advertisers will be sent a copy of the BBMO.

Free Design Help

   If you need design help, I'll provide that service FREE OF CHARGE. Simply request it and send me the material. If you have a web site containing the material, simply give me the addresses of the web pages displaying the products and/or info you want included into the ad.
   To send the material by disk or e-mail attachment, Microsoft Word is the preferred publishing program; however, Publisher and Adobe are acceptable. Pictures can also be in Bitmap, GIF or JPEG. Pictures sent by mail must be suitable for scanning.
   Advertisers will be sent a sample of their ad for approval.

How to Join the Mailing List

   To receive postal mailings of the BBMO, e-mail ebonrunbn@excite.com  with "BBMO Mailing List" as the subject. In the body of your message, state your name (and names of all interested household members), postal address, and gender and ethnic makeup of interested household members. You may also send the above info via postal mail. Your info will not be sold or shared with undesirable, solicitous entities.

Frequency of Mailings

   The BBMO will be mailed to any one mailing list member at a frequency of no more than once per month--to prevent "overloading" the customer. This will be done on a rotational basis whenever the quantity of mailing-list members exceeds the quantity of available mailings.

   I, KEITH B. ANDERSON, HEREBY PROMISE THAT AD PRICES IN THE BBMO WILL NEVER BE HIGHER THAN COST (PRINTING) PLUS $10 PROFIT PER 1,000 COPIES PRINTED AND SHIPPED TO MAILING-LIST MEMBERS .

   I FURTHER PROMISE THAT I WILL STRIVE TO LOWER COSTS AS MUCH AS I POSSIBLY CAN. THEREFORE, A GOOD PORTION OF ADVERTISING PROFITS WILL BE STORED TOWARD THE PURCHASING OF MORE-ECONOMICAL/ HIGHER-VOLUME PRINTING EQUIPMENT ON AN ONGOING BASIS SO THAT THE PRINTING COST CAN BE PERPETUALLY LOWERED AND ADVERTISERS CAN CONTINUOUSLY SAVE MORE AND MORE MONEY.
